IP lawyers spend too much time and clients' budgets managing IP renewals. A task that should be simple and predictable should not be so cumbersome. The Rightly Renewal Flow is the first solution that ties clients, law firms, and foreign agents into one simple, automated workflow. This enhances the user experience for all parties, saves precious time, and lowers costs.
To begin the project I conducted user and customer research through workshops, numerous interviews, and a close relationship with our sales and customer success team. This helped me and the product team to understand the pain points lawyers and paralegals were experiencing with their current solution. Using FigJam I visualised the user journeys we needed to accommodate and I experimented with different ways to make the processes simple and more efficient.
The next step for me was to build the UI and a prototype the I could test with customers and users. In close collaboration with customers, users, developers, and executives we iterated through multiple solutions.
The end product is a complete process that helps IP professionals work and collaborate with all the necessary parties using one platform. Lawyers and paralegals can send work to foreign agents using simple links where the parties can negotiate pricing, share messages and documents, and finally exchange new IP registration data.
